alsa-hundewelt is a multi-channel specialist mail-order company for dog food and cat food, as well as for other items that enhance the wellbeing of animals and their owners. A key point of emphasis in the product range is naturally healthy nutrition for dogs and cats. The high-calibre animal food, alsa-nature, is produced by the company itself. alsa-hundewelt runs two web-shops, one operating in the German language, the other in Dutch. The product range goes out to customers throughout Europe.
alsa-hundewelt needed a software solution that depicts all back-office processes, including debtor management, and that was to replace stand-alone solutions previously used.
The challenge to be overcome in the company-internal production of animal food consisted of having all ingredients together and ready at precisely the right time. This entails bringing together in the can the ingredients from the company’s own production with those from external suppliers. The previous system entailed longer delivery times for important ingredients, a situation that did not satisfy customer requirements.
Additionally, the new back-office system had the task of retaining established customer-loyalty measures, such as limited-duration promotional campaigns, or calendars with customer vouchers.
Implementation / Projekt
A special feature of this project was that the software was required to be able to arrange the order scheduling for the necessary ingredients, the production processes, and putting together the sets of products accordingly.
For this, all e-velopment deployed all standard modules, adapted to match the company’s specific activity sequences. It was a key requirement that e-velopment had to retain the capability to issue releases.
An integrated debtor-management system meant that, since the 360e software was introduced, the company-operational and accounting processes are dealt with in a legally secure way, without any breaches of communication.
