It constitutes an exception to this when the information is obtained and stored in order to defend against attacks that constitute criminal offences, or that constrain the functional capability of our web offering. Data is not gathered on individuals or on their individual behaviour.

Your Application
Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal application data, which you send to us within the framework of the selection procedure, as far as this is necessary in order to assess your suitability, capability and subject-specialist performance with regard to the position of employment for which you are applying (cf. Art. 33, Para. 2, Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany GG>. Additional statutory requirements for the selection process result, in particular, from Germany’s General Law on Equal Treatment AGG> and budgetary law. Your personal application data is processed, for the previously-stated purpose, on the basis of the opening clause of Art. 88, Para. 1, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), of which the legislature in Germany makes use in Art. 26, Germany’s Federal Data Protection Act (abbreviation: BDSG).
Voluntary basis or respectively obligation to provide information
In order to conduct the selection process in accordance with the law – and thus, in particular, to assess your suitability, capability and subject-specialist performance with respect to the position of employment to be filled – we require certain personal data about you. To the extent that you do not provide this personal data, the consequence can be that we cannot take you into consideration for the position of employment that is to be filled.
Recipient of the personal data
The recipients of the personal data are the respective personnel competent with regard to personnel matters.
Duration of storage
In the event of an unsuccessful application, we erase your personal application data, no more than six months after a rejection has been sent to you; in this context, application documents are destroyed. In the event of a successful application, we take the personal application data into your personnel file, to the degree that it is necessary to do so. The retention of documents in personnel files conforms with the statutory requirements.
Rights of the person concerned
With regard to the processing of your personal application data by our company, the predominant basis for your rights is Art. 15 et seq., General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Limitations, modifications and, if applicable, an exclusion of these rights can result, in particular, from the GDPR. As a matter of principle, you can demand information about whether our company processes personal data from you (Art. 15, GDPR). If this is the case, you have a right to obtain information about this personal data, and also a right to further information in connection with processing of that data (Art. 15, GDPR). In the event that personal data about you is not (or is no longer) accurate or it is incomplete, you can demand a rectification and, where applicable, a completion of this data (Art. 16, GDPR).
If the statutory prerequisites for this are met, you can require the erasure of your personal data (Art. 17, GDPR) or require restriction of processing of this data (Art. 18, GDPR). However, the right to erasure, according to Art. 17, Para. 1, GDPR, does not exist (inter alia) in cases in which the processing of personal data is necessary in order to perform a task carried out in the public interest, or in exercise of official authority (Art. 17, Para. 3 (b), GDPR). For reasons emerging from your particular situation, you can at any time object to the processing, by our company, of personal data concerning you (Art. 21, GDPR). Provided that the statutory prerequisites are met, no further processing of your personal data is undertaken by our company. You have a right to file complaints to the competent supervisory authority.
